Note géographique et géologique
Le village et son château sont dressés sur un promontoire rocheux situé sur la rive droite de la rivière Auzoue.
Note historique
En 1062, le nom de Courrensan apparaît avec une école monastique rattachée à un prieuré clunisien dépendant du monastère de Saint-Mont. Le bourg excentré était séparé du château par un fossé. Au XIIIème siècle un second village appellé bastide est édifié avec le concours de Bernard de Trencaléon, seigneur de Courrensan.

Flore: grande prêle, vigne, églantier, ronce commune, pissenlit, chicorée sauvage
Faune: merle noir, grande loche, pie bavarde, corneille noire, héron garde-boeuf, rouge-gorge, cheval, milan royal, pigeon ramier

The village and its castle are built on a rocky promontory located on the right bank of the Auzoue river.
Historical notes
In 1062, the name of Courrensan appeared with a monastic school attached to a Cluniac priory dependent on the monastery of Saint-Mont. The outlying town was separated from the castle by a ditch. In the 13th century a second village called bastide was built with the help of Bernard de Trencaléon, lord of Courrensan.
