Note géographique et géologique
Les couches affleurantes sur le territoire communal sont constituées de formations superficielles du Quaternaire et de roches sédimentaires datant pour certaines du Cénozoïque, et pour d'autres du Mésozoïque.
Note historique:
Jusqu'au XIXième siècle, le vignoble de Domme, situé sur les côteaux calcaires du Céou, était l’un des grands vins du sud-ouest, exporté dans le monde entier. Le vin était acheminé grâce à des bateaux à fond plat appelés gabares, au départ des ports de Domme et Castelnaud en direction de Bordeaux.

Geographical notes
The outcropping layers on the municipal territory consist of superficial formations of the Quaternary and of sedimentary rocks dating for some from the Cenozoic, and for others from the Mesozoic.
Historical notes
Until the 19th century, the Domme vineyard, located on the limestone slopes of the Céou, was one of the great wines of the south-west, exported all over the world. The wine was transported by flat-bottomed boats called gabares, departing from the ports of Domme and Castelnaud towards Bordeaux.
