Short stage between the Town of Yak Kharka and the Camp of Thorung Phedi. There are many people who follow up to the High Camp. We prefer not to risk because, although it is true that the stage is very short and in just over 2 hours you are in the place where you go to sleep, you risk if you gain too much height to have problems with acclimatization (apart from that in the High Camp is much colder and the prices rise proportionally to the height you get). We stayed in the upper barracks of Thorung Phedi (they were almost empty and the atmosphere was much more familiar).
We had a very closed day without stopping to snow, but without a blizzard, so it was nice and gave it a more beautiful touch to the landscape. Of course, we could not enjoy at all the views of the snowy peaks that surrounded us.
We arrived shortly after 10 in the morning, so we had all day to despair inside the Lodge. And the weather so closed invited very little to go for a walk, which was what we had planned to acclimatize better.
The only difficulty that could be put to this stage would be a bad acclimatization and that is very subjective and depends on each one.
I was quite convalescent with an enteritis that I had been dragging since the day before (which was the one I suffered the most), so it came to me that the stage was so short and soft.
