Itinerary description
Rando Guide 7.4 - Seignanx Maremne et Côte sud (Conseil Général des Landes - éd.2013)
Note géographique et géologique
Note historique
Note écologique(observations)
Faune: canards colvert, mésanges charbonnières, merles noirs, tourterelles turques, moineaux domestiques, pigeons biset, geais des chênes, faisan de chasse à collier (de Colchide), lapin de garenne, chevaux.
Flore: chênes tauzin, genêts à balai, ajoncs d'Europe, pins maritimes, chênes lièges.

Geographical notes
Boudigau is a small coastal river of 24.5km, it is oceanic-and-rain fed. Since its source in St Martin de Seignanx, its watershed drains notably the marsh of Orx. Off its mouth lies a gaping underwater valley, 1000/1500 m deep, and about 50 km long: the Capbreton Gouf, dug by the Adour, is the Grand Canyon of the Gulf of Biscay.
Historical notes
The port of Capbreton loses the mouth of the Adour in 1578 after pharaonic works that move it to Boucau Neuf, for the benefit of the city of Bayonne. This loss was hard for the economy of the city and reinforced that of Bayonne at the cost of very high maintenance work to dredge the bar of the new mouth, the former being naturally protected by the Guf of Capbreton.
To visit: Capbreton sea front
Environmental note (observations)
Fauna: mallards, great tit, common blackbirds, Eurasian Collared Dove, House Sparrows, rock doves, eurasian jay, common pheasant, European rabbits, horses
Flora: Pyrenean oaks, common broom, common gorse, maritime pines, cork oaks
