La Chalosse est un terroir de collines agricoles et de deux larges vallées ouvertes par le Luy de France et le Luy de Béarn.

Note historique
Le gisement de bitume de Bastennes a été exploité des romains jusqu'au XIXème siècle pour les trottoirs de Paris notamment.

Flore: platane commun, ronce commune, grande prêle, arum d'Italie, mimosa d'hiver, renoncule rampant, moutarde brune
Faune: corneille noire, geai des chênes, merle noir, pigeon ramier, grand cormoran, busard Saint-Martin, chevreuil, tourterelle turque, poule domestique, mésange charbonnière, rouge-gorge familier, héron cendré, chèvre, rat musqué, buse variable, cheval, oie de Toulouse.
