Note géographique et géologique
Située dans le Ribéracois (Périgord Blanc), la commune de Douchapt se situe sur la rive gauche de la Dronne (affluent de l'Isle). Le nord de son territoire est constitué d'alluvions de l'Holocène, période interglaciaire qui débute il y a 11 700 ans jusqu'à nos jours.

Note historique
Un édifice religieux du XIème siècle portait le nom de Sanctus Petrus de Dupchac, rebaptisé Dopchac en 1365. Cette toponymie remonte au nom d'une personne d'origine gauloise.

Faune: buse variable, corneille noire, merle noir, pigeon biset, pigeon ramier, cheval, geai des chênes, pic vert, poule, mégère
