Note géographique et géologique
La ripisylve de la Midouze est constituée d'un ensemble boisé le long de ses berges et assure plusieurs fonctions essentielles: stabilisation des berges, corridor biologique, habitat, et épuratrice des polluants agricoles ou urbains qui convergent vers le cours d'eau.

Note historique
L ’église fortifiée Saint-Laurent de Carcarès est située sur une butte. Son clocher-mur porte un hourd (charpente en encorbellement) avec des traces de meurtrières et archères. A l’intérieur se trouvent le buste de Saint-Girons du XVIIème siècle en bois doré, la statue de la Vierge assise, en bois doré et polychromé du XIVème siècle.

Note écologique(observations)
Flore: grande ortie, polystic à soies, arum d'Italie, ronce commune, houx commun, ajonc d' Europe, fragon faux-houx, pin maritime, genêt à balai, lierre commun, châtaignier, fougère aigle, herbe de la pampa, mimosa d'hiver.
Faune: cheval, poule, mouton, chevreuil, rouge-gorge familier, merle noir, corneille noire, buse variable, bergeronnette grise, pigeon ramier

Geographical notes
The riparian forest of the Midouze is made up of a wooded area along its banks that performs several essential functions: stabilization of the banks, biological corridor, habitat and purifier of agricultural or urban pollutants that converge towards the watercourse.

Historical notes
The fortified church of Saint-Laurent de Carcarès is located on a hill. Its bell-tower-wall bears a hourd (corbelled framework). Inside are the bust of Saint-Girons from the 17th century in gilded wood, the statue of the seated Virgin, in gilded and polychromed wood from the 14th century.
