Itinerary description
10kms
We have started to record only after we reached the edge of the volcano.
We started to follow the yellow path for a while to admire the lava 'sculptures' and then diverged to take the route to the Hverfjall and climbed it taking the challenging path on our right. The way was very steep and slippery due to the loose gravel covering the volcano. When we finally reached the top we were greeted with a stunning view into the crater and the black lanscape surrounding the volcano. We walked around the edges of the crater and descended the slope on the same side.
