Note géographique et géologique
Le territoire communal est parcouru par trois cours d'eau: la Dronne, la Côle et son affluent le Coly (à ne pas confondre avec son homonyme, affluent de la Vézère). Le plan d'eau de Miallet est formé par un barrage placé sur la Côle.

Note historique
Le barrage est bâti en 1993 afin d'alimenter la Dronne en cas de sécheresse et favoriser l'irrigation. Placé sur la route d'espèces migratrices, le site est rapidement classé Espace Naturel Sensible par le département.

Flore: pin maritime, jussie à grande fleur, pin sylvestre, chêne pédonculé, ronce commune, chêne des marais, aulne glutineux, châtaignier, fougère aigle, liseron, maïs, prunelier, houx commun, robinier, ajonc d'Europe, Genêt à balai
Faune: pigeon ramier, grenouille, Grèbe huppé, geai des chênes, martin pêcheur d'Europe, grande loche

Geographical notes
The municipal area is crossed by three creeks: the Dronne, the Côle and its tributary the Coly (not to be confused with its namesake, a tributary of the Vézère). The Miallet lake is formed by a dam placed on the Côle.

Historical notes
The dam was built in 1993 to supply the Dronne in the event of droughts, and to promote irrigation. Placed on the route of migratory species, the site was quickly classified as a Sensitive Natural Area by the Dordogne province.
