Itinerary description
A linear route following the Roman road (High Street) from Penrith to Windermere. Public transport can be used. Train from Oxenholme (Lake District)to Penrith and train back from Windermere to Oxenholme or there are buses from Windermere to Penrith. NB High Street crosses open fell and good navigational skills will be required in poor weather.
