TRAVESIA DE LOS MONTAÑAS PIRIN (BULGARIA)
24-JUL-2018: From hitza Pirin to Melnik (Stage 5 of 5)
It is the longest stage but its little positive slope and being mostly in descent, make it bearable. Melnik is a beautiful town, famous for its wines, worthy end to a five-day trek. It is surrounded by agglomerate walls, between which the last 5 km run, just after passing through the Monastery of Rozhen, one of the largest in Bulgaria.
The tour is described in detail in the Walk 9 Day 3 of the book WALKING IN BULGARIA'S NATIONAL PARKS by Julian Perry - a Cicerone Guide (photo of the cover is attached).
The paper map of the Pirin mountains used has a scale of 1: 50,000, is titled Pirin and is from the Domino publishing house (a photo of the cover is attached).
The stages that make up the trek, all uploaded to Wikiloc, are the following five:
20-JUL-2018: From Predel (Bansko) to hitza Yavorov. Crossing of the Pirin Mountains (Stage 1 of 5).
21-JUL-2018: From hitza Yavorov to hitza Vihren. Crossing of the Pirin Mountains (Stage 2 of 5).
22-JUL-2018: From hitza Vihren to hitza Demianitsa. Crossing of the Pirin Mountains (Stage 3 of 5).
23-JUL- 2018: From hitza Demianitsa to hitza Pirin. Crossing of the Pirin Mountains (Stage 4 of 5).
24-JUL-2018: From hitza Pirin to Melnik. Crossing of the Pirin Mountains (Stage 5 of 5).
The hitzas are mountain shelters, generally throwing basic, which can provide mountaineers of pernota (include as standard the sheets), dinner, breakfast and take-away food for the next day's walk, always according to menu, since no There is half board as is usual in European shelters. They can be booked through the government agency of Tourism of Bulgaria.
In 2018 when I prepared this trip I could not find the entire tracks of any of the 5 stages, although some pieces. This is the reason why these 5 tracks upload to wikiloc. The stages follow a mix of different routes marked in the Pirin National Park. In the design of each stage has been taken into account, both to pass through the most impressive places, lakes and peaks, as the general orientation of the road, starting from the north, from the city of Bansko, to reach the south to the city of Melnik, near the Greek border and Mount Olympus in the background, with the information of the book mentioned above.

Buenas tardes!
