Itinerary description
230) Cooloolabin Conservation Park - 25th February 2019
Return Distance 250km, Max Elevation 120m, Climb 7m, Time 0.25hr, Level - Easy
Co-ordinates -26.569530, 152.904560
My Blog:
Not so much a walk, more a way of like, to visit this serene spot with its rock pools and cascading waters.
Short Description:
This is all about peace and tranquillity; sitting on the rocks or dipping your feet in the cool water pools, as the waters cascade over the boulders.
Getting there:
Turn off the Bruce Highway at Yandina and head into the town. At the first roundabout, turn left into Fleming Street, which becomes Old Gympie Road and then Cooloolabin Road. Turn left into Kiamba Road and after 2km, park on the left just before the bridge (between Hillcrest and Atkinson Road).
Maps:
None found.
Route/Trail notes:
The track itself is dirt and there are plenty of raised roots closer to the creeks to trip over, no doubt exposed from flooding. The track leads to the junction of two feeder creeks that form the South Maroochy River and empty into Wappa Dam.
Permits/Costs:
None.
Other References/Comments:
Cooloolabin Dam, Wappa Falls and Dam are just a short distance away and worth a look.
