Itinerary description
Trail from Lago di Tenno to Riva del Garda, mainly on paths and minor roads, plus 250m on a busier road. It passes through Canale. Tenno, Deva and Foci, and visits the Bastione above Riva del Garda.
It starts at the bus stop on Lago di Tenno, crosses down to the path beside the west side of the lake and then goes clockwise round the lake, using the new pedestrian footbridge at the north end of the lake. It then visits to the medieval village of Canale di Tenno, with a side trip to visit the Monumento alla Vicinia just outside, which is a monument to the Vicinìa, or medieval Common for managing collective property. Returning to Canale, the path goes down to Tenno past the Castello di Tenno (a private hotel) before taking a minor shady path down and then up to a view point. The path then continues past Chiesa di San Lorenzo steeply down to cross Torente Magnone via a path running through a fish farm.
The trail then goes up to Deva, where after a 250m section along a more major road it takes a pedestrian path to the left to go to Foci. A shady path runs up from Foci to the Bastione above Riva del Garda. After visiting the Bastione, double back and then take the pedestrian/cycle path down to the old city of Riva del Garda, finishing at a nice gelati shop (Gelateria al Pozzo)
