Itinerary description
The western front of Cascade Mountains, one of the first along I90 from Seattle. Its soaring rock faces were an impressive sight from the town of North Bend. Most of the hike was in dense rainforest, in a series of switchbacks. While it's mostly a (uphill) walk, the final part (Haystack) required a thrilling YDS class 3 scrambling before stunning views at the summit.
