Itinerary description
The gentlest ascent of Arenge Bluff is from the north, but it was closer and more convenient to climb through the cleft its the west side, which was steep, loose, awkward and overgrown in a few places - but not problematic. On top it was pleasant, and the going was easy. Near the summit I met a party from a local bushwalking club, which surprised them as much as it surprised me.
There is a standard cairned descent to the south end of Bond Gap, but I was interested in visiting the north end of Bond Gap. It took a bit of poking around, but I found some connecting ledges which got me down. It looks like there are some interesting features to explore upstream from Bond Gap, but I continued eastwards up the next ridge until a good descent to the trail presented itself. I continued on the trail to Simpsons Gap.
