Nice journey in this second stage of trekking through Albania and Montenegro, leaving from the town of Valbona and passing through the Prejsllopi pass, arriving to sleep in the town of Cerem.
Today's route runs through the Valbona Valley National Park (Parku Kombëtar Lugina e Valbonës) in Albania and through the Prokletije National Park in Montenegro.
Dog: It can be done with a dog without problem.
Water: We did not see sources, but we did see abundant streams where we could catch it whenever it becomes drinkable.
- ACCESS TO THE START POINT:
The route leaves from the town of Valbona in Albania, which we arrived the day before from Theth. See the previous day's route below.

- ROUTE:
We start the route from the accommodation located near Valbona. We will cross the entire town on the road where you can only see tourist accommodation houses, hostels, a campsite and some hotels and as in all of Albania, many houses are being built for tourist accommodation for hikers.
We passed by some old bunkers from the Cold War and the communist era and right there, next to it, there is a beautiful water spring with an indicator sign.
A little further on, we cross the Valboné river by bridge and on the other side we will initially go a small section along a path and partly also along a track towards a telecommunications tower that we see in front.
Once we get there, we will go up through a beautiful beech forest and along a path, which initially has a significant and steep slope and although there are some small zetas, this is almost not noticeable on the slope, which, as I indicated, is steep in this section.
Higher up, although we continue climbing, the path softens the slope a little. Throughout this section we will go through a beautiful beech forest. We climb a little higher and the vegetation begins to disappear, so now we will go through wide meadows of vegetation and seeing the imposing nearby mountains.
We ascend until we reach a small hill where Montenegro begins and which is the Prejsllopi pass. Here we therefore leave the Valbona Valley National Park and enter the Prokletije National Park.
From there, if we wanted, we could ascend to the Zla Kolata peak, which is the highest in Montenegro, which we do not do, since there is abundant snow towards the top and we are not equipped for it.
We begin the descent from the pass through the territory of Montenegro and although most of it is on a good path, we find some snowfields that we have to cross or go off the path a little to avoid.
We passed by the icy caves of Ledena Pećina, which we did not enter.
Later, we will cross a very large area of lapiaz, which is rocky karst terrain and where walking is difficult and be careful if it had rained and the rock was wet, it would be very easy to slip or twist an ankle. In this area you have to be careful to avoid a sprained ankle or a fall.
Further down we reach a beautiful plain full of grass and flowers that is Bori Pass, where we eat and from there, with a slight climb through beautiful and wide meadows, with a small flock of sheep, we arrive again at the Albanian border where there is a monolith from the communist era.
Now we have a long descent until we reach the town where we will sleep and initially we will go along a path, parallel to a stream through areas without vegetation, although further down, we will go through a beech forest. In this section of descent, we find some areas of the path that are very muddy so it is very difficult to walk.
Further down the route runs almost along the bed of a small stream, at least initially, although further down we see a clear path on the right bank of the stream. We are descending and the path crosses several fields of grass or forage and later we come out to a track that we will follow until we reach the Guesthouse Afrimi, where we will stay tonight, near the town of Cerem.

* Fifth stage from Gacarri cabin to Babino Polje
