Arthur's Seat is located in Edinburgh near the House of Parliament of the Scottish Government and the Royal Palace (Holyrood Palace), at a distance of approximately 1.5 km from the city centre. From the top you have a wide view over Edinburgh.
The walk itself is not impressive and not difficult. The route follows a fairly easy path between the top of Arthur's Seat and Salisbury Crags, through a small valley. Many walk to the top in flip-flops or sneekers. Considering the surface of gravel and sand, a sturdy walking shoe is recommended. You can easily walk up in 30 minutes.
