Trail photos
We were in Uttarakhand to do the Nandi Kund trek.
To acclimatize to the altitude and live, feel the country, we wanted to start with 3 Hindu pilgrimage sites. Nandikund Lake is also a sacred place.
The road to access the various sites is constantly cut by landslides and you can find these little "chip shops" absolutely everywhere.
Madhyamaheshwar, another of the Hindu temples. One of the most popular and beloved Panch Kedars and pilgrimage routes for Hindus.
Once again it is a constantly ascending path. It is a pilgrimage route and therefore the trail is in excellent condition. There are a few possible breaks with water, tea and food on the way up.
The views of the valley and the mountains opposite are very beautiful.
In Madhyamaheshwar, there are several accommodations apparently of different quality. Local operators rotate and you don't choose your accommodation. We had a bed with an English toilet and running water.
The place is once again mystical. We didn't have the courage to climb to the pass after learning that our trek ended there. There has been a death in the mountain and we cannot climb. We will have to find a plan B. We came to this region because it is less touristy (European) than Nepal, but they are also less well organized and less frank than the Nepalese. A little snow should not prevent an expedition.
