We were in Uttarakhand to do the Nandi Kund trek.
To acclimatize to the altitude and live, feel the country, we wanted to start with 3 Hindu pilgrimage sites. Nandikund Lake is also a sacred place.
The road to access the different sites is constantly cut by landslides and you can find these little "chip shops" absolutely everywhere.
The first stage of the Nandi Kund trek is not the most exciting, at the bottom of a deep Himalayan valley, with few views. The morning is spent getting there by car on once again amazing roads.
The Madhyamaheshwar pilgrimage is very popular and the path leading there is in excellent condition.
Just before Bantoli, we pass above Madhyamaheshwar ganga. The village of Bantoli is a crowd of a few houses hanging over the river. The accommodation is in guest houses, very clean with a large bed, a private bathroom, English toilet and hot water. There are several different accommodations and the locals take turns. So you don't know where you are going to stay Very nice.
