We were in Uttarakhand to do the Nandi Kund trek.
To acclimatize to the altitude and live, feel the country, we wanted to start with 3 Hindu pilgrimage sites. Nandikund Lake is also a sacred place.
The road to access the various sites is constantly cut by landslides and you can find these little "chip shops" absolutely everywhere.
Very nice hike, especially with snow and sun.
The site of Rudranath is mystical, amazing, too magical, at the end of the world. Facing south, with the sunrise in full face.
The descent to Mandal is another story: your thighs will hurt for a few days because it is so steep.
I say "easy", but the descent is hard and very long.
The views are great, the changes fun.
The Anushuya temple is also well located and interesting. It could be a good place for a break, but it was raining and we had to continue otherwise it would be dark. In Anushuya there are a few "restaurants"
