In the land of landslides and chip shops.
We were in Uttarakhand to do the Nandi Kund trek.
To acclimatize and live, feel the country, we wanted to start with 3 Hindu pilgrimage sites. Nandikund Lake is also a sacred place.
The road to access the different sites is constantly cut by landslides and you can find these little "chip shops" absolutely everywhere
Unfortunately, part of the route was lost. GPS error.
It is a very beautiful part of the climb to Rudranath with splendid clearings and very beautiful Bugyals. A little before Pitridhar, we have tent accommodation.
One can take a break at Pitridhar which is a sheltered accommodation located in a very beautiful bugyal with very beautiful views.
The Naola pass is very beautiful with views on both sides.
Then it started to snow and the landscape became clogged.
Rudranath has a set of barracks that are unsanitary by our European criteria but very welcome at 3,600 ms when it is snowing and windy. There are not many, if any, practical places to put a tent. You have to go up further up the trail to where it branches off to Mandal. There are very questionable outdoor sanitary facilities. A source but no running water in the "dwellings".
On the way, there are at least two places where water is flowing.
As the temple had just closed, there was no one there.
The temple has, once again, all its mysticism.
Very, very nice place.
