Itinerary description
A hike through the famous "Giant Stairs" of Palisades Interstate Park, located along the Hudson River at the boundary of New York and New Jersey.
The "Giant Stairs" were boulders that were blasted off the Palisades in the 19th century. Today they offered a path of scrambling along the Hudson River. The path was well marked and well maintained, in that some rocks were artificially rearranged for ease of passage. I would rate that as no higher than YDS class 2 scrambling.
