Itinerary description
Ain Kfaa: Syriac origin, "Ain Kapheh", meaning "the source of the vaults"
An easy scenic trail that is mostly pavement and low altitude.
The trail started from Ain Kfaa village (the birthplace of Lebanese renowned author Maroun Abboud) next to the church and went down to the town entrance where we took a dirt road moving a moderate uphill climb until we reached the limits of Bijje village where you could see Wadi Hama (Hama valley). The dirt road turned into pavement once inside Bijje; in Bijje we visited St. Joseph church where we had a tea/lunch break and then moved by its cathedral and the cemetery where the pavement ended and started a downhill slope to Ain Kfaa passing by St. Maroun church (under renovation) and back to our cars.
An easy trail with no obstacles; however, you might look around a bit after the cemetery to find the trail between the bushes (around 50+ meters) before you reach the dirt road again.
