Itinerary description
We followed the range west, finding only poor water until we reached Milton Park Gorge where excellent water was trickling. A short distance upstream, through some jungle-like vegetation, is the visually dramatic Rock Flake.
We continued to Ellery Creek where we followed the winding west branch past Fish Hole and expansive sandy campsites before turning off and heading upstream to Eagle Gorge.
Here there is an airy climbaround of a small waterfall. I managed it this time, but last time I baulked and did a 45-minute bypass instead. We camped just upstream where there were pools with adequate water. I checked out an unnamed gorge to the west, but it was dry.
