Itinerary description
I took the long way around at the beginning because I was following cattle tracks through the mulga scrub. It turned out not to be the best route, so I just trudged westward until I reached Ellery Gap.
I headed north through the gap and found a sandy campsite on Ellery Creek. Ellery Creek was completely dry, so I did a side-trip to Milton Park Gorge where there was good water (above the lower cattle-fouled pools).
The only water I found on the south of the range was a seep down an otherwise-dry waterfall. In an emergency I could have soaked up some water with a cloth, but there wasn't much.
