WHY TO DO IT:
It is a short, easy half day trip where you have good panoramic views of that area including Win Hill, Ladybower reservoir and Stanedge edge.

MAIN DIFFICULTIES:
The ground can be slippery if it has rained. Also be careful in the precicipio.

ITINERARY:
Round trip almost the same way.

POINT:
The Bamford train station. If you have a car you can get closer and save a few meters of ascent.

HOW TO GET:
From Manchester you can take the train to Sheffield that makes intermediate stops in the hope valley. It takes less than an hour and on weekend the price of the round trip ticket on the same day (off peak day return) cost me 12.20 pounds.

ALTERNATIVES:
There are several longer tours through Ladybower reservoirs and you can also go up Win hill, which I also have registered in this account. From Hope, Edale and Heathersage, on the same train line, there are many more rides highlighting points of interest such as Man tor, winatts pass, kinder scout.

SERVICES:
Bamford is small but has a train station, public bathroom, bus service, a pub / cafe / post office.
