DEPARTURE POINT: Dungeon Ghyl, there is a parking lot right there and the road starts on the other side of the road.
HOW TO GET:
I arrived by public transport from Manchester. At 6:56 on a Saturday I took the first train, then changed to another in Wigan, and then another in Oxenholme to Windermere. You can also go straight to Oxenholme, but never until Windermere, you always have to change to Oxenholme.
I arrived in Windermere at 8:47 and took bus 599 at 8:51 to Ambleside (Keswick Road). In Ambleside I took the bus to Dungeon Ghyl (516), which happened at 9:31, arriving at the stop at 10:01. It is not the last bus stop.
On the way back it is done the other way around, bearing in mind that in winter, the last bus to Ambleside goes by about 5:00. From Ambleside to Windermere there are still several and trains to Oxenholme and then to Manchester there are quite a few.
WHY TO DO IT:
Langdale is one of the most famous valleys for hiking and has a deserved fame. It is a valley with which you will not fail. On this route you will have good views, easy terrain and sometimes more "fun", there are several peaks that you can reach, a lake, views of several different valleys and also many roads, so if conditions allow you can lose.
ITINERARY:
I did it clockwise. There were several moments that I deviated a little by disorientation or by water in the field, we recommend care and common sense. The itinerary that I made is only indicative and only you have the last word regarding your own physical integrity.
ALTERNATIVES:
With more time you can make more peaks in this same area or go further down the other valley.
Another route that I leave for later is the Bowfell.
MAIN DIFFICULTIES:
Parts of the road have enough stones. I had to make a climb, probably because I went astray.
SERVICES:
In Ambleside and Windermere you have all the services you can expect in mountain tourist towns. In Dungeon Ghyll there is a bus stop, parking, pub and hotel. It's what I saw, there could be more things.
TERMS/
There was practically no snow, it did not rain. I made a strong enough wind.
NOTICES:
I have a broken cell phone and it takes terrible pictures, I hope that at least they give an orientation of the type of landscapes that can be found.
