Itinerary description
It was my first sunset hike and the one to remember. The hike started from the entrance of the Sohat Village resort and went up a medium-difficult slope dirt road all the way to reach the bombed out Tele Liban Channel 11 (TL11) (the state-owned Lebanese Television) - it was bombed during the civil war that inflicted Lebanon from 1975 to 1990 - where we had our food break and then came back the same way because of the darkness.
The trail allowed hikers to see the newl built Qaysamani Damn (filled with water), the cedars of Falougha, the man-made ponds of Falougha and Kfar Selwan, the Lebanese coastal cities, and the Bekaa Plain and valley. The TL building gave us a birds eye 360 degrees view of Lebanon and put us above the clouds. The scenery was out of this world, especially when the clouds and home lights mixed together (see attached images).
The weather was a typical amazing Lebanese wearther with temperature varying from 22 degrees to 8 degrees.
The level of the hike was moderate.
Simply put, a MUST hike for all.

This way point is the geographical location of where the Sohat water comes from. There is a small house with a live-in guard. The last picture is that of the location; the others is a way around the limit on pics by wikiloc
