Highlight: Leh (3,500 m)
Distances and accumulated altitude: 25 km (11 km by car), +320 m / -300 m
Full route: 2015.08.06-15 - Trek Stok Kangri, Ladakh (10 days)

We follow the road under construction that in a few years will connect the town of Rumbak to civilization until after about an hour, we reach the Indus River. Before the division in 1947 of ancient India into the modern states of India and Pakistan, the Indus was the second most important river in the region, after the Ganges River, both in cultural and commercial terms. At present, it is the longest river in Pakistan and provides the key water resources for the economy of this country. Once arrived in Zingchan, most of the mountaineers hire the services of a taxi to take them directly to Leh, which makes us few to walk on the road. The landscape, however, mineral, arid, is a spectacle. Suddenly we passed an entrance sign (in our case exit) to the High Altitude National Park of Hemis. In front of us, a great valley is drawn: Phey, Spituk and then Leh, our adventure comes to an end ...
