Walk through a magical place for the Maori.

Te Waikoropupu Springs are a treasure (taonga) and a sacred place (waahi tapu) for the Maori. The legend speaks of Huriawa, the guardian spirit. In the Maori tradition surges are the purest form of water (waiora) which is the spiritual form (wairua) and physical form of life. The emergences provide healing and in the past were the place of birth and death ceremonies.
