Itinerary description
Today was the first time I took my son hiking, and on top of that, without his mother.
Also it's been 4 weeks since I last hit the trails due to an ankle injury.
From the station to the trailhead it takes slightly more than 1 km but it is quite simple to find one's way.
Overall the trail is very well indicated. It starts by a long series of stairs leading to the 天祖神社 then a succession of ups and downs with little slope. The trail is very wide and easy to walk even with a baby carrier and a weak ankle.
赤ほっこand 天狗岩 were our two little summits, offering the same view towards the Okutama mountains. The access to 天狗岩 is the only part with a bit of rocks requiring more care, this part can be left out though.
The trail then goes down towards the city with a series of turns with gentle slope.
