Itinerary description

It starts from Carona and climb up to the shelter F.lli Calvi (2000 mt - http://geoportale.caibergamo.it/it/rifugio/rifugio-bald-brothers).
Going from Carona you pass through the site of Pagliari, a small medieval village where you can stop for a coffee or make food supplies at the shelter "Il Bivacco" of Beppe and Nadia (whom we thank for the hospitality). Then pass from the beautiful waterfall of the Sambuzza valley and up 'till "Prato del Lago" where you take to the right towards Calvi Shelter. You'll get to the dam Fregabolgia (covered of picturesque stones) from which the homonymous lake which is wonderful colored in a beautiful sunny day. From here, in 10-15 minutes, you reach the refuge. A nice building with comfortable rooms and good food. Excellent hospitality above all thanks to the legendary Valentino who we want to especially to thank for the lesson of "Mercante in Fiera" (a card play) held for the children.
The next day, departing in the morning you go for a stretch to Carona and then turn left along the path that runs along the mountains on the Left side of Brembo river. Beautiful trail through the pine forests and glades of these fantastic mountains. You arrive at the lake Sardegnana just above Carona and continue on the trail with stunning views over the village 'till the Lake Lago Marcio.
A dip in the cool waters of the lake, just below the snow glaciers visibles at short distance, are inevitable if the weather is nice and warm.
From there it's easy to go for a visit to the other lakes (Becco, Casere, Colombo e Gemelli) but we didn't and came back to Carona.
