Itinerary description
We planned to do this trail in January, but couldn't because the initial crossing of Abrams Creek was too high and fast to ford. The bridge here is still out, but the crossing now (in September) was only knee high and very doable.
Starting around Abrams Creek Campground Parking area, followed Rabbit Creek to Hannah Mountain Trail. This section was the toughest part of the hike, ~1000 foot elevation gain over ~2.5 miles.
Turned left onto Hannah Mountain Trail and followed it for ~1.5 miles to the Abrams Fails Trail. We followed Abrams Falls Trail for another ~1.5 miles to Abrams Falls itself for lunch. Nice falls and there were many families enjoying the day at the falls as well (most of whom had approached from the Cades Cove side of the park - which we had previously done as an out-and-back hike).
After lunch at the falls, we returned the way we came, ~1.5 miles back to Hannah Mountain Trail. At that intersection, we went the other way we hadn't arrived on, towards Hatcher Mountain and Little Bottoms Trails.
Followed the 2.5 mile length of Little Bottoms Trail until it intersected with Cooper Road Trail. Turning left on Cooper Road Trail, we returned the 1 mile to the Abrams Creek Campground parking lot.
