The first part of the stage until Vatva Vas goes by dirt tracks or asphalted and quite flat, in a semi-urban environment, but quiet and without cars. At the point marked with waypoint 014 there is a bar in something that looks like a logistics center.
In Vatva Vas there are all the services. There is also a church in Santiago where the credential is stamped. The seal is in a metal box outside the church, on the left.
As soon as you leave Vatva Vas, the difficulty begins. The path goes into the forest by a path and there is a very strong uphill. Once reached the top, within the forest, there are sections of path and forest track, sometimes flattening and sometimes going down slightly.
After walking through the woods for about two hours, totally alone, we arrived at the refuge hotel Dom Frata, waypoint 015.
Dom Frata is an accommodation in the middle of the forest, very quiet, where you can also have lunch and dinner. When I arrived it was closed, but the owners were doing something in the house. Although I had to beg for a bit, they served me a beer and something to eat and as I was eating it started to rain and I did not want to continue. Finally I was also given lodging and I spent a great afternoon, alone in the house, in the middle of the forest, in a comfortable room and a very reasonable price. The owner went to the shelter in the afternoon to serve me dinner. Great. Highly recommended
