After a morning's croc spotting on Yellow Water, this was an opportunity to stretch my legs with a bit of a climb.
Short Description:
A short walk to Mirral Lookout from the viewing platform atop Mt Cahill, one of only a few vantage points to view the floodplains below.
Getting there:
From Jabiru, travel 32km south on the Kakadu Highway past the Bowali Visitor Centre and turn left at the Mirral Lookout sign, parking at the base of the track.
You have to appreciate that at certain times of the year, road and sites may not be open due to flooding. This can be checked at the Bowali Visitor Centre or online at: Kakadu Access 'map'.

Route/Trail notes:
From the car park and information board, take the steady inclined track to the top. Return by the same route.
Permits/Costs:
An entry permit to Kakadu National Park is required by all visitors, which can be obtained from the Bowali Visitor Centre or online at: Kakadu Permit .
Other References/Comments:
Backtrack 4km along the Kakadu Highway towards Jabiru and turn right down the Muirella Park Camping road for the opportunity of a further 3.5km Budda Walk though several wetland habitats.
