Note géographique et géologique
Situé à l'est du pays Tarusate, la commune de Meilhan est traversée par des ruisseaux affluents de la Midouze comme le ruisseau de Rébillon, le ruisseau de Gouarde ou le Batanès.
Note historique
Le personnage historique de la commune est Félix Robert, le premier français à avoir connu une carrière de matador. Après ses débuts dans la course landaise, il prend l'alternative à Valence en 1894. S'ensuit une vie trépidante au Mexique puis aux Etats-Unis où il devient une figure de l'Ouest américain.

The historical figure of the town is Félix Robert, the first Frenchman to have had a career as a matador. After his debut in the Course Landaise, he took the alternative in Valence in 1894. A hectic life ensued in Mexico and in the United States where he became a figure of the American West.
