Note géographique et géologique
Cocumont, village du Queyran à la toponymie atypique, tire son nom du latin coculo monte "montagne du cri du coucou". On y trouve les vignes des côtes du Marmandais.

Note historique
En 1255, le prince Edouard d'Angleterre accorde aux habitants de "Cogutmont" le droit de bâtir des fortifications. En 1560, c'est le droit de tenir foire et marchés qui leur est concédé par François Ier.

A visiter: vieille église romane du 11ème siècle

Geographical notes
Cocumont, village of the Queyran country with an atypical toponymy, takes its name from the Latin coculo monte "cuckoo scream mountain". Its territory is filled with Côte du Marmandais vineyards.

Historical notes
In 1255, Prince Edward of England grants the inhabitants of "Cogutmont" the right to build fortifications. In 1560, it is the right to hold fair and markets which is granted to them by Francois Ist.
