IMPORTANT NOTE: THE DIFFICULTY WITH WHICH I CATALOG MY ROUTES IS REFERRED TO MOUNTAINS USED TO WALK, WHO UNWIND WITH FACE ON ALL THE LAND, NOT FOR OCCASIONAL HIKERS. IF YOU HAVE LITTLE EXPERIENCE, ADD ONE MORE DEGREE TO THE DIFFICULTY OF MY ROUTES SO YOU WILL NOT GET SURPRISES
Penultimate stage of our trek (although to a certain extent it is the last real one, since the next day we would hardly finish the last kilometers that we need to get to where the jeeps are waiting for us).
It is another long stage from the Paju or Paiju Camp (at the foot of the homonymous peaks), where we had already spent two nights on the way out and now we had rested before finishing this spectacular trek. We walk along the Braldu river on a good path that gradually loses height and through which we avoid the streams that fall on the right bank of the slope. Some of these streams came down very rough on the way out (because of the time of day we crossed them) but first thing in the morning they carried much less water. We passed through the Bardumal Camp and then we went back through the Jhola Camp (again making the great detour that the road makes, entering the Dumordo River Valley). In the late afternoon we faced with the magical lights of before sunset the last views of this incredible spectacle of Karakorum that we will soon leave. Korophon Camp is at the foot of the huge moraine under the Biafo Glacier. It is one of the most comfortable on the trek, both due to the mild temperature and the pleasant meadows next to one of the streams that drain from the glacier. Here we will spend our last night of this amazing trekking, which although it has left us a somewhat bitter taste due to the frustration of not having been able to cross the Gondogoro-La pass, it has undoubtedly been one of the greatest mountaineering spectacles that they have seen and are going to see our eyes. The next day we will only have to travel a few kilometers to reach the end of this beautiful adventure through these great mountains.
