Stroll along the north shore of Byers Lake.
We left the car in the Byers Lake day parking lot and took the path that leaves the parking lot to the south. Our idea was to go all the way around the lake, but when we got into the woods we see a sign informing that the bridge over Byers Creek has collapsed with the winter snowfall and it is not possible to cross to the other side... So we give ourselves the return to the parking lot and we began to turn to the other side, following a small path along the shore.
The trail runs comfortably along the shoreline of the lake, still partly frozen, with views of Kesugi Ridge. We pass a 1959 trapper's cabin, and shortly thereafter we head away from the lake on a trail that leads to the north bridge over Byers Creek.
We cross the bridge to see it, but since we can't do the circular route, we go back towards the lake and, before reaching the shore, we take a path inland, which takes us to the Byers Lake camping area. From there we return to the parking lot more quickly than along the shore of the lake.
