Itinerary description
Begin: Carisbrooke Cedar Hill (Busstop) End: Freshwater Bay (Busstop)
This easy 21km walk starts at Cirisbrooke Castle. The fortification is there since the 6th century. In the 16th century, however, the castle became more anymore important. It was needed to protect Wight against the Spanish.
We walk through fields to Shorwell where the 13th century church can be visited. From here we follow the Tennyson trail and descent to Freshwater bay along its golflinks.
