Hi, need permit? Guide? Are there trails markers? Clear?
Hi Awildcat.
1. Permit? Yes.
2. Guide? Yes.
3. Trail markers? Yes, but at some points or locations, the markers had dissappeared or out of order due to the lot of trees fell on the trail. Perhaps you still remember about the major Jerai tragedy last year (August 2021) causing major flood in the district of Yan. I counted and marked on the wikiloc that there are more than 50 places with tree fall on the trail. Refer to my wikiloc of the same trail this year somewhere before the fasting month.
4. Clear? Yes. It is a clear trail, except at the location of tree fall or wood logs on the trail. This trail is a heritage trail which is supposed to be a very old trail. The trail was used by the muslim scholar, Syeikh Abdullah Al-Yameni, somewhere in the year of late 1180s.
Thank you the queries.
Pls feel free to view this trail which is to me the best Jerai trail. The trail serves us very beautiful view along the route until the end. https://www.wikiloc.com/hiking-trails/jerai-via-kemtengas-sungai-tupah-14-may-2022-102893435
