Itinerary description

Return from Zarouchla to Patras with some alternative routes, part of testing my new gravel bike.
First about 6-7km are nice and easy with descent from the village until the turn towards Kalavrita ski center.
Then the huge climb fro the next 12-13k, from ~950m to 1750m with constant 7-9% grade. Great views to the whole valley. The last part of the climb still had significant amount of snow (see photos) and was quite a ride! Finish at the parking of ski center (me in shorts and others still skiing! NICE!
From ski center all the way down to Kalavryta village - nice roads, lots of turns, constant descent, great views! Nothing else to ask for...
I did a quick stop in Kalavryta for drinks and calories and continued towards Zachlorou, a small village and train station hidden in the valley of Bouraikos river (also check photos from there!)
From Zachlorou I decided to go to Plataniotissa, another gem village with church in the tree (I knew this village from another past ride). I did not know about the roads in this section, but since I had my gravel bike, I did not worry too much.. Indeed, I had to pass some sections of dirt roads and very bad asphalt, so the bike paid off. I did a quick water refill in Plataniotissa and continued descent to Aigio, another great section with views and turns...
The last section Aigio-Patra was done on old national road, well known section with some nice views to the Patras gulf.
Overall the ride was awesome!
