Itinerary description
The route starts in Bond Park and goes along the White Oak Creek Greenway till we get to the American Tobacco Trail, which once was a railroad track but is now a nature path. BTW, my compliments to the designers and maintenance crew: well done! Anyway, the first few miles of the Tobacco Trail are well-conditioned dirt paths, then asphalt paths. This route goes to the very end of the Tobacco Trail in Durham, so there and back from Bond Park is 88 km (55 miles), so I'm going to say it's difficult, although technically it couldn't be easier. Obviously you don't have to go to the end: you can turn around at any time and that would make it easier. I said it was for gravel bike but really about any kind of bike can do this route. It's VERY pretty, very impressive, the ride is a staple for me.
