Nice loop trail in County Wexford.
From km 9 to km 22 the route follows the entire path "Three Rocks Trail (https://wexfordtrails.ie/Directory/three-rocks-trail-forth-mountain/)
It is a signposted hiking trail that runs along part of the route taken by Wexford's troops in the 1798 rebellion. It passes through various battle sites and camps. You can also see two 16th century castles, Ferrycarrig Castle and Barntown Castle. The last 3km. from km19 to 22 of the route, it coincides with another marked itinerary "Forth Mountain Trail" in the forest of SHELMALIERE / FORTH MOUNTAIN (https://www.coillte.ie/site/shelmaliere-forth-mountain/)
The route runs through small secondary roads and along a track in good condition, making it perfect for a gravel bike.
MTB in Ireland
In Ireland the countryside is private and there are almost no dirt tracks, the few that do exist are private and many are usually closed to the public. In a very nice way, they have already fired me several times. It is true that there are some Trail Centers and Bike Parks where you can enjoy mountain biking, but they are scarce.
The best option, without a doubt, is the small local roads, to enjoy the beautiful Irish landscape. They are practically paved rural tracks, with little traffic and usually with a small strip in the center of moss or grass, they are narrow, almost no two cars pass.
In the Republic of Ireland there are four types of roads identified by a letter:
M - Motorways, highways with several lanes in each direction, cycling is not allowed. With a lot of traffic.
N - National roads, roads in good condition, usually one lane in each direction but with a large hard shoulder, much larger than Spanish roads. With a lot of traffic.
R - Regional roads, roads with one lane in each direction, usually with lines and a very small or non-existent shoulder. With average traffic normally.
L - Local roads, local roads with little traffic, usually without lines and in not very good condition. Generally, the more numbers it has, the narrower and in worse condition it will be. These are the ideal ones for cycling, from my point of view, as they are very quiet and have spectacular views.
Personally, seeing that there were not many tracks in the country, I decided to take my old mountain bike that I had converted into a hybrid to use it in the city, and it was clearly a success. The stiff frame, hybrid tires and lockable fork are perfect for riding the small roads of Ireland. Although the best option is a gravel bike.
REMEMBER THAT YOU HAVE TO DRIVE ON THE LEFT! :)

Great fun. A real gravel ride in my view as it has everything from fast riding on pavement to steep climbing on gravel and dirt. I used 28 mm tires and loved it.
