North of Fort William, the slopes of Aonach Mor and the Ben Nevis range are home to the boundless Leanachan forest, a coniferous forest of over three thousand hectares that extends to the nearby Great Glen Valley; in the heart of the forest there is also the Nevis Range, the area dedicated to skiing and mountain biking which makes this area the nerve center for outdoor sports.
