Itinerary description
The ride is beautiful and winds through forested areas that frequently skirt ponds and streams. It's easy to stop in several locations for a swim or to rest on a nice beach. Bugs can be an issue at times.
The tour is a nice combination of mostly smooth dirt trails (~50%), paved bike paths (~30%), and nice road (~20%) that takes an hour and a half to two and a half hours, depending on your speed.
Some trail areas have lots of roots, others can be sandy for stretches, especially if it has been dry. Depending on the time of year, some trail segments have tall grass and other shrubbery nearly obscuring the trail, but it's all rideable!
The forest in this area has many side trails, so if you get off track you can generally keep going and take turns back toward the route as needed to rejoin it. The only exception to this is on the east side of Balsio Ežero, where you'll need to stay near the road to avoid dropping all the way down to the lakeside (which requires climbing back up again).
