Itinerary description

Day 6 of another bikepacking trip around Palawan. The aim of this trip was to ride roads I still haven’t ridden in the north half of the island.
The bike used for the trip was a cyclocross type Kona Sutra LTD with 700 x 47 tires and 30Tx10-42 gear. Wikiloc limits to 25 the number of waypoints to add to the track. If you want more waypoints (stores, places to eat and stay, etc.) just contact me and I will send them to you.
After two days cycling around the east half of Dumaran, it was time to go back to the west and to Palawan mainland. Roads were muddy after the rainfall of the previous days but it was not the kind of mud that attaches to the tires making it difficult to ride.
3-4 kilometers before arriving to Dumaran Town I turned left and continued south east for around 15km. The road passes through Santo Tomas and ends in the town of Bohol. A fishing town with a sandy beach. Mangrove east of town and another small beach and a boat jetty west of town just before the river mouth of Calasag river.
I rode back the 11 kilometers to Santo Tomas and then south west to the village of San Juan Dumaran. A fishing village with sandy sea access. Some of the boats connecting Santa Teresita and Dumaran Island arrive here. From San Juan, there is a direct road to Dumaran Town and it wasn’t necessary to ride back the same road again.
As I arrived in Dumaran Town in the afternoon I checked out the possibility to go back to Santa Teresita and stay there to be able to start cycling early on the next day. The boat fare to Santa Teresita is 600PHP and it is possible also to go to Danleg for 700PHP. The boat ride to Danleg is really nice because it crosses a mangrove stretch of around 2 kilometers that divides a portion of land west of Dumaran Town from the island.
