Itinerary description
Day 5 of another bikepacking trip around Palawan. The aim of this trip was to ride roads I still haven’t ridden in the north half of the island.
The bike used for the trip was a cyclocross type Kona Sutra LTD with 700 x 47 tires and 30Tx10-42 gear. Wikiloc limits to 25 the number of waypoints to add to the track. If you want more waypoints (stores, places to eat and stay, etc.) just contact me and I will send them to you.
The day wasn’t perfect as typhoon Agaton was passing Palawan during the day. It had been raining the previous night and the day started windy and cloudy but without rain. It rained later.
The target of the ride was to get to the northern-most part of the island. I took the main road direction to Dumaran Town and turned right after San Jose de Oro. The track ends up past the village of Madoldolon, where there is a sandy beach with some houses and people living there.
Back to the main road and riding back towards Araceli I took again the right turn that the previous day took me to Osmeña and Dagman to check out the third road heading east at the junction. I had seen that there was a beach on satellite views. The track was wet and muddy with some parts that had to be walked. The area is swampy and so is the beach at the end. The ride must be very nice in dry conditions though.
