Itinerary description

Day 3 of another bikepacking trip around Palawan. The aim of this trip was to ride roads I still haven’t ridden in the north half of the island.
The bike used for the trip was a cyclocross type Kona Sutra LTD with 700 x 47 tires and 30Tx10-42 gear. Wikiloc limits to 25 the number of waypoints to add to the track. If you want more waypoints (stores, places to eat and stay, etc.) just contact me and I will send them to you.
The boat from Santa Teresita to Dumaran departed at 8:15 and arrived in Dumaran Town at 9:00.
Dumaran Island roads are unpaved and only streets in Dumaran Town, Araceli and some of the villages are cemented. There is a very steep climb 5 kilometers after leaving Dumaran Town and as Distance to Araceli is not too long I decided to divert and have a look at some other places or access to some kind of beach or nice spot. Sitio Bintuan is a small fishing village in a mangrove beach and Balogo is another village where the road ends. There is no access to the see as it is surrounded by mangrove and the only way out into the sea is through a river 1km NE of town.
After going back to the main road from Balogo I headed to Araceli stopping at Tinintinan Beach, which is the most popular beach in Dumaran Island. In Araceli, I stayed at Kubo Beach Bar/Lodge. A bar with karaoke that also some bamboo rooms right over the sand near the sea. Rooms with common bathroom are 250PHP.
There is a resto-bar that just opened while I was there. The name is Gasa and it is around 3km NE of town right by the sea. They were planning to build rooms in the future. There are a couple of eateries in Araceli and staff at Kubo Bar can also cook for you if you tell them in advance.
It is possible to arrange boat trips to nearby islands and snorkeling spots from Araceli.
There is a regular boat service from Araceli to Roxas and the trip takes around 4 hours.
