Itinerary description
Beautiful sunny day & blue skies! Rode to Ranfurly where Lloyd fixed another puncture & we had coffee. On to Waipiata for a delicious pie for lunch. Next stretch was 22km to Hyde passing Kokomga, Daisybank & Toroiti - very small rail shelters. Rode over a few interesting viaducts & bridges & through a tunnel. Saw a NZ falcon gliding gracefully above us. Also a family of brown rabbits ran across the road! Lots of beautiful little birds were flitting around the trail today. Saw lots of scotch thistle & blue flowered mountain bushes along the way. It was just lovely being surrounded by rolling countryside & mountains.
